There is nothing to beat exercising in the fresh
air when our weather allows it. For some, folk, one does not even need to add that note about the weather!
Windover Fitness ~ THE TRAINING PARK : a mix of woodland, meadows and cut walkways ~ including training spaces for groups/agility/cycle skills etc
Windover
Fitness offers a spectacular 10 acre Training Park of meadows and woodland,
where we can include variety from : cycling, running, Nordic Walking, circuit training,
agility, sports specific conditioning and functional training : one-to-one or
to small groups
Our specialisations include :
SPORTS SPECIFIC CONDITIONING and FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
Our Gym of the Outdoors applications are usually, but not exclusively, applied on our own Training Fields. We can come to your lands or use open access areas, subject to the ability to carry the necessary equipment in. To that end, much of the equipment has been specifically selected so that it can be readily transported, as a last resort using a Bergen rucksack!
We often use The Tye in Alfriston (by the Church and Clergy House) for taster sessions for Nordic Walking.
What might we use in the Gym of the Outdoors, aside from walking/running/cycling/Nordic walking . . . ? free weights, flexible resistance (bands/tubes etc), Gymstix®, Milokit® suspension straps allowing functional training. medicine balls, hurdles, agility ladders, sports loading, cone drills ... and so on. Imagination is the key, and sometimes the ability to CARRY it.
You tell us how you want to train, and we will see what programme we can tailor to suit. We do offer huge variety and individual sessions are regularly adapted to avoid tedium
Our usual rates apply for one-to-one or small groups of two or three (see STUDIO section) : for larger groups in the fields, contact us for a quotation. (i.e. for a Boot Camp).
During summer months (say April to September) we run a 60-minute, outdoor Nordic walking and other general fitness class : called NORDIC FITNESS ~ this is in and around the SEAFORD area only. Wednesday evenings 7 to 8 pm; with possibility of a technique Taster for Nordic Walking from 6pm by prior appointment. Venues for our starts have included : The Martello Tower on the front; Tidemills; Seaford Barn; Exceat and Friston Forest. In 2010 the classes included occasions when we used mountain bikes; additional training included agility runs; suspension straps; kettlebells; flexible resistance and light dumbbells.
In the winter there may be an occasional after-dark hour of week-night Nordic Walking ~ when the weather and sky are clear and there is a full moon. These will be from a down-top car park ~ such as Bo-Peep Bostal; Firle upper car park; or Butts Brow.
